Sporting Events
SW Florida is home to many exciting sporting events. The Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins call this area home during Spring Training. The Florida Everblades Hockey Team and The Firecats Arena Football Team are also located in SW Florida.
Boston Red Sox Spring Training
Fort Myers has been the spring-training home of the Boston Red Sox since 1993, when the team moved from Winter Haven's Chain of Lakes Park. The Red Sox train at City of Palms Park, while the minor-league facility, featuring five full fields, is a short distance away.

Directions: From Sanibel, take Summerlin Rd to McGregor Blvd. left on McGregor to Martin Luther King Blvd., left on Fowler then left on Edison Avenue.

Florida Everblades Hockey
he Everblades are thought of to be model franchise for the ECHL, as they have not missed the playoffs in each of their nine seasons, and making two appearances in the Kelly Cup Finals. The Everblades' fanbase is also considered to be one of the best in the league, as many games at Germain Arena sell out, especially Saturday night games. Many fans of different NHL and minor-league teams, as well as international fans come out to watch the Everblades.

Minnesota Twins Spring Training
Hammond Stadium is the winter home of the Minnesota Twins, and their minor League class "A" Ft. Myers Miracle. This 80 acre complex includes the 7900 seat Hammond Stadium, four additional full size fields, two half fields, 10 covered batting cages, a cloverleaf softball complex, two observation towers and clubhouses
